I’m stepping aside from my usual talk about mental health and switching gears for a moment. We are facing a different type of struggle right now. We are unfortunately facing an unexpected (and devastating) move and a huge financial strain. Please take a moment to read and follow the link below.

Nine years ago, Dave and I were expecting our first baby- a boy. Mason would soon be joining our lives and he would go on to teach us so many things about life and love. But, with those teachings, came many challenges including some that no parent could ever be prepared for. Mason was born and within hours we knew there was something wrong. It would take over 8 years, 16+ hospitalizations, long nights, blood draws, multiple times of laying our child into the hands of surgeons and many tears and prayers before we would have a long list of diagnoses. Mason has nearly lost his life numerous times due to his severe food allergies, but those are just the beginning of a long list of problems this little boy has faced.
We wouldn’t change our time with this little boy for the world. Through all of this, however, many financial struggles have come about. Friends have helped us set up fundraisers to try and help us offset the costs of Mason’s medical care. While Dave and I have both been blessed with wonderful jobs and insurance, we are unable to keep up with the medical bills that keep piling in. No amount of financial planning can prepare a family for the unexpected costs that come with a very sick child. Even if you cannot give, please at least read this note with this particular fundraiser, written by my life long friend, Jennifer, which blessed my heart.
